Kyrgyzstan to build huge trade and logistics center providing thousands of jobs


A huge trade and logistics center will be built in At-Bashy region of Naryn Oblast, where thousands of jobs are expected to be provided, Head of the Interregional Directorate General of the Economy Ministry Zainidin Zhumaliyev told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

Zhumaliyev added it will be a Kyrgyz-Chinese Trade and Logistics Center in the possession of Naryn FEZ.

According to him, thousands jobs will be created under construction of the center.

“After the opening of the center, 10 to 15 thousand jobs will be created. Plants, shopping and logistics centers, a hotel, restaurants and cafes will take place at the center, he added.

Head of the Investments Promotion and Protection Agency Shumkarbek Adylbek uulu said the volume of investment in all phases of the center’s construction will make US $280 million.

The project will be divided into three parts: industrial, commercial and logistics.

“Out of 200 hectares of land, the Kyrgyz-Chinese company will receive 176 hectares, while the remaining 24 hectares are to be used in a separate project. The trade and logistics center under the public-private partnership will be built there,” he said.

The press conference participants also said the center’s full construction is scheduled to be completed within 8 years.

The center will be located near the Bishkek-Torugart road 110 km from the border with China.

At-Bashy region head Jakypbek Subakozhoyev said information campaign in the form of meeting on the ground was conducted among the population in villages of the regions.
