Kyrgyzstan plans to mine 17.3 tons of gold at Kumtor in 2022
The Kumtor gold deposit is operating normally, this year we plan to produce 17.3 tons of gold. Tengiz Bolturuk, president of the Heritage of the Great Nomads National Company told at a parliamentary meeting on Wednesday.
He said that more than 14 tons of gold were mined last year.
Bolturuk noted that after the taken measures, the rift in the quarry stopped.
“Work on this section of the quarry has been resumed. We now hope to fulfill the production plan. Now there are difficulties with logistics in connection with the sanctions against Russia. Therefore, we are taking measures to deliver materials from other countries,” he said.
