Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan to hold number of joint events in honor of 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations

As part of the visit of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Aibek Artykbaev to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (IRP) to participate in second inter-MFA consultations on political issues, he met in Islamabad with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of IRP Sohail Mahmood on Aug. 17, 2022.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting, the sides discussed issues of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan, and exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan.

The sides noted the need for practical implementation of the existing potential in the development and strengthening of cooperation in various fields, as well as close bilateral cooperation within the framework of regional and international platforms.

On the occasion of the celebration this year of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, Deputy Minister Artykbaev proposed to hold a number of joint events in the capitals of the two states, including the organization of mutual visits at the highest and high levels, as well as to develop and sign a program of cooperation between Kyrgyz Republic and Islamic Republic of Pakistan for 5 years, which will give a significant impetus to bilateral Kyrgyz-Pakistani cooperation.
