Kyrgyzstan, Japan intend to further develop cooperation of law enforcement agencies

Kyrgyzstan’s Interior Minister Kashkar Dzhunushaliyev met with Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan Shigeki Maeda and Second Secretary of the Embassy Eiko Matsumoto.

Minister Dzhunushaliyev congratulated Shigeki Maeda on his appointment on such a responsible mission, wished him success and good luck in responsibilities, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

In the course of the meeting, the sides exchanged views, discussed issues of mutual interest, as well as considered issues of further strengthening of the Kyrgyz-Japanese relations, both sides highly appreciated the current level of bilateral cooperation between law enforcement agencies, and expressed their intention for its further development.

It was the first meeting of the minister of internal affairs of Kyrgyzstan and the new ambassador.

Thanking Dzhunushaliyev for a warm welcome, Ambassador Shigeki Maeda stressed the relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan are at a high level.

He said he would make every effort to expand bilateral relations, including in the field of internal affairs.

“The Kyrgyz Interior Ministry is open to cooperation on a wide range of law enforcement issues,” the minister said at the end of the meeting.
