Kyrgyzstan, IDA ratify Financing Agreement
Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov have signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic On ratification of the Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Development Association (IDA) on financing (Primarily Health Care Quality Improvement Program), signed on Sep. 9, 2019 in Bishkek.
The Law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic on Nov. 13, 2019.
In accordance with the Law, the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic shall duly notify the International Development Association of the implementation of the domestic procedures by the Kyrgyz Republic, necessary for the entry into force of the above mentioned Agreement.
The Law enters into force after 10 days from the date of its official publication.
The International Development Association (IDA) provides concessional credit for the Primary Health Care Quality Improvement Program in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The World Bank’s Board of Directors on June 7 endorsed a new Primary Health Care Quality Improvement Program for the Kyrgyz Republic, to the amount of US$ 20 million from the International Development Association (IDA), including US$ 10 million as a concessional credit and US$ 10 million as a grant. An additional grant of US$ 17 million is also being provided by a Multi-Donor Trust Fund supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the German Development Bank (KfW).
