Kyrgyzstan delivers humanitarian aid to ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan
Humanitarian aid has been delivered to ethnic Kyrgyz in the Small and Big Afghan Pamirs, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The expeditionary group of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, despite the difficult situation and logistics in Afghanistan, provided humanitarian assistance to ethnic Kyrgyz living in the Small and Big Afghan Pamirs on Oct. 7 and 9, 2021, on behalf of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Zhaparov.
Due to the lack of an optimal length and relative safety corridor through the territory of Tajikistan, which the Kyrgyz Republic previously used according to the permission of the Tajik authorities, the purchase of humanitarian cargo was first made in Afghanistan itself, in accordance with the list approved by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. The total volume of essential products delivered to the Kyrgyz of Afghanistan amounted to 95 tons.
As part of the humanitarian action, the Kyrgyz expedition reached an agreement at a high level to ensure the further safe residence and free movement of ethnic Kyrgyz across the territory of Afghanistan, as well as their respective all-round support as citizens of Afghanistan, the report said.
