Kyrgyzstan at Public Diplomacy Week 2019 in South Korea


On Oct. 24-26, 2019 the Kyrgyz Embassy in Korea presented Kyrgyzstan at the Public Diplomacy Week 2019 festival of diplomatic corps of foreign countries, accredited in the Republic of Korea, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

At the festival, guests were provided with information on Kyrgyzstan’s nature, culture and traditions.

Presentation of Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea Kanatbekova about Kyrgyzstan, in particular about the culture, tourism and methods of the Kyrgyz Republic in the promotion of public diplomacy took place within the framework of the festival.

In addition, the Embassy took part in the Asian Culture Week festival and the Asian Cultural Centre – Asian Embassies conference, held in Gwangju (the Republic of Korea) on Oct. 24-25, 2019 and organized by the Asian Cultural Center in cooperation with the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

A the festival, the Embassy organized a pavilion, where national felt products, dried fruits, honey and other products of domestic producers were presented, and children of ethnic Koreans from Kyrgyzstan performed.

During the conference, an exchange of views in the field of cultural development between Korea and the countries of the Asian region took place.

President of the Asian Cultural Center Mr. Lee Jinsik noted the positive development of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the field of culture. In particular, he emphasized the exhibition, dedicated to the Manas epic, which was organized on the basis of the Center.

At present, the Center has also translated Kyrgyz fairy tales into the Korean language.
