Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev took part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Ankara.
At the meeting of the heads of foreign affairs departments of the OTS member states, which took place on the eve of the extraordinary Summit of the Heads of State, the perspective directions of the Organization’s activities and the development of multifaceted cooperation between the Turkic-speaking countries were considered.
The ministers paid special attention to the implementation of the joint efforts of the member states in order to quickly overcome the consequences of devastating earthquakes in the Republic of Turkiye and counteract natural disasters, including the development of common approaches to managing emergencies in the OTS region.
In his speech, Kulubaev expressed deep condolences to the Turkish people and the Government of the Republic of Turkiye in connection with the victims and destruction caused by earthquakes and advocated the adoption of a set of measures to strengthen both the institutional and organizational aspects of disaster risk management.
Following the meeting, the ministers agreed on the documents submitted for consideration by the heads of state, and also stressed the importance of the initiatives implemented within the framework of the OTS activities.
