Kyrgyz director’s film wins three awards at int’l festival in Poland

Kyrgyz director Mirlan Abdykalykov’s Joo Kyulyuk (Fast Runner) film received three awards at the 37th Ale Kino International Young Audience Film Festival in Poland, the film creators said.

The film was recognized as the winner in the Best film for children, which has outstanding artistic merit and pedagogical value category of the Association of Polish Filmmakers.

The Association is Poland’s largest organization of all film and TV professionals, with approximately 1,800 members, and is the leading film industry organization in Central and Eastern Europe.

Abdykalykov was awarded the Ale Debut prize Best directorial debut. Also the Joo Kyulyuk was awarded the Special mention of the international jury prize.

This year, 41 full-length and 73 short films from all over the world took part in the festival.
