by December 5, 2019 Market

Delegation from Kyrgyzstan is taking part in the Asal Bayrami (Honey Festival) exhibition-fair in the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Kabar News Agency correspondent said from the scene of the event.

The Kyrgyz delegation led by Adakham Mavlyanov, head of the Society of Beekeepers of Dzhalalal-Abad Oblast.

This is the first time that Kyrgyz beekeepers take part in this fair.

“With a great pleasure we accepted the invitation from our Uzbek colleagues. More than 100 kinds of honey from Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan are represented here. Among them, the most competitive is our Kyrgyz honey,” said Mavlyanov.

He added the Kyrgyz honey is in great demand among Uzbek consumers.

“We have not only sold our products here, but also exchanged experience and agreed to establish long-term mutually beneficial partnership relations, Mavlyanov said.

The Kyrgyz beekeeper also noted the border relations between the two countries and between people have significantly improved in recent years, and this, in his opinion, is the most basic condition for further successful bilateral cooperation.

At the initiative of the Association of Beekeepers of Uzbekistan, more than 2.5 thousand bee families have been exported this year to the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, and 120 tons of mountain honey, produced by Uzbek beekeepers, have been imported on a preferential basis.

This event has been held in Uzbekistan since 2017.
