Kyrgyz apricot exported to United States


Kyrgyz apricot is exported to the United States, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The Agricultural Products Export Department of the Agriculture Ministry is actively working together with the business sector, as well as with agricultural producers on the sale of products.

According to current data for the first half of 2019, exports of apricots amounted to more than 10 thousand tons. Sales markets are expanding, while earlier they were mainly exported to the EAEU and CIS countries, this year 25 tons of Batken dried apricots were exported to New York, USA, to Chicago – 15 tons, to Izmir, Turkey – 120 tons, to Dnipro, Ukraine – 44 tons, as well as to the Russian Federation – 42 tons.

In addition, a total of 8,495 thousand tons of fresh apricot from Issyk-Kul was exported to foreign countries, mainly to Russia and Kazakhstan

Note, that in the near future it is planned to launch new fruit processing enterprises in Batken and Issyk-Kul Oblasts. Currently, fruit processing equipment is expected to come from Turkey.
