Head of the Kyrgyz Parliament’s Office Almazbek Sabyrbekov and Director of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Office in Kyrgyzstan Lee Jong-soo signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the agencies.

The event was attended by Ambassador of Korea to Kyrgyzstan Lee Won-jae and Deputy Head of the Information Technology Department of the Jogorku Kenesh Osmonkul Orozaliev, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament said.

Welcoming the guests, Almazbek Sabyrbekov expressed gratitude to Ambassador Lee Won-jae and Head of KOICA Office in Kyrgyzstan Lee Jong-soo for contribution to the development of cooperation between the two countries and implementation of several projects in Kyrgyzstan.

Under this Memorandum, KOICA intends to support the Jogorku Kenesh in the amount of $ 200 thousand to modernize the IT-infrastructure and digitalization of the Parliament.

The grant project is funded by the Korean Embassy in Kyrgyzstan through the Representative Office of the Korea International Cooperation Agency.

During the event, the sides discussed the implementation of the project in the field of modernization of IT infrastructure and digitalization of the Jogorku Kenesh, as well as further plans for bilateral cooperation.
