Kazakhstan’s military delegation arrives in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit


A meeting with Kazakhstan’s military delegation took place today in the General Staff Headquarters of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan.

This is the first official visit in the history of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations since Independence.

Kazakhstan’s military delegation, headed by the Minister of Defence, Colonel-General Saken Zhasuzakov, arrived in Bishkek yesterday. He met with the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

The meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major-General Rayimberdi Duishenbiev, is taking place today.

During the talks, the parties will discuss the situation in the Central Asian region, exchange experience on the issues of the armed forces of the two states and issues of ensuring joint security. Following the dialogue, an agreement on cooperation in the field of military intelligence between the governments of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan is expected to be signed.
