Kazakhstani servicemen will take part in the International Marathon
Preparations for the Aravt International Equestrian Marathon within the framework of the 2019 Army International Games began in the mining and rangers division of the regional command South.
Aravt is an equestrian unit of 10 warriors. This is the number of participants in the team that each country will have to submit to participate in this competition. The Kazakhstani army was one of the first to declare its readiness to take part in the Aravt International Equestrian Marathon.
At present, among the soldiers of the mining and chasseurs division, selection is underway to form a team that will consist of 10 main and 3 reserve soldiers. The team will include a sniper, a machine gunner, a grenade thrower, a signalman, a sapper, a gunner and a medical instructor.
The competition includes two stages, the first of which will be the Horse Marathon, during which participants with horses have to overcome 130 kilometers in mountainous and wooded areas, water obstacles, go through a field with established mines. Also in the list of competitions is horse fishing with the aid of a lancer, bridling and saddling of a horse, carriage of conditionally wounded horses and ammunition.
The second stage of the competition is the “Mixed Relay for a short distance.” The servicemen will have to overcome an obstacle course, carry out small-arms fire, and make a grenade throwing both from the spot and during the race.
This is a new competition as part of the Army International Games. The peculiarities of the Aravt International Equestrian Marathon is that Mongolia provides horses for the competition; it is allowed only to use its equestrian equipment. The weight of the participants in the military should not exceed 85 kg, and for every mistake or delay during the competition will be charged penalties. The most serious violation is injured horse.
In this case, the Aravt team immediately leaves the competition.
The competition will be held in Mongolia in early August of this year, on the basis of the Integrated Training Center of the Armed Forces of the country.
