Kazakhstan, UAE to establish joint investment platform

January 27, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held talks with the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The meeting covered the ways of implementing the agreements reached at the highest level during the official visit of President N.Nazarbayev to the UAE, January 15-16.

The sides discussed the willingness to develop joint projects in energy, petrochemical, nuclear industry, transport and logistics, military-technical sphere.

Baiterek Holding and Mubadala Development Company PJSC agreed to establish in the near future the joint investment platform for co-financing of infrastructure and other projects in Kazakhstan and other priority markets of neighboring countries.

The energy ministries of Kazakhstan and the UAE discussed the possibility of sides participation in constructing the petrochemical complex in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Etihad Rail discussed the implementation of joint infrastructure projects in the UAE and in third countries.

UEA Nuclear Energy Corporation expressed a desire to develop bilateral relations with Kazatomprom in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The UAE side also expressed interest to consider investing in the infrastructure of military training centers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The UAE were represented in the negotiations by the Minister of Energy Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei; member of Abu Dhabi Executive Board, Mubadala Development CEO, UAE Nuclear Energy Corporation CEO Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak; Abu Dhabi city Mayor, Etihad Raid CEO Oud Murshid al-Murur; Deputy Foreign Minister for Security and Defense Affairs Faris al Mazrouei, and UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan Mohammad al-Jaber.

The Kazakh side was represented by the Minister of Energy K.Bozumbayev, Minister of Aerospace and Defense Industry B.Atamkulov, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy CEO K.Alpysbayev, Baiterek CEO E.Dossaev, Kazatomprom CEO A.Zhumagaliyev and Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE K.Lama Sharif.
