Kazakhstan took part in tourism exhibition in Urumqi
As part of the strategy to attract Chinese tourists Kazakhstan took part in the international tourist exhibition WTT-2016 on winter kinds of tourism in Urumqi, the Ministry for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan informed.
The exhibition was attended by the delegations from 28 countries, including Russia, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Iceland, Norway, Malaysia.
“The Kazakh delegation was represented by the employees of Mayor’s Offices of Almaty and Governor’s office of East Kazakhstan region, tourist operators of “Zhibek Zholy – AP”, KazUnion, “Bekzada”, “Abdi Travel”, the message reads.
During the exhibition, the representatives of the Department of tourism industry of the Kazakh Ministry met with the Chinese counterparts on strengthening of cooperation in the field of tourism, holding of the China Tourism Year in 2017, as well as on the implementation of the “Memorandum between the Ministry for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan and the State Administration of Tourism Affairs of China on the simplification of group tourist trips of the Chinese citizens to Kazakhstan”.
It is worth noting that nowadays the Chinese tourists have become the main driving force behind the development of the world tourism. Over the past 10 years, the number of tourist trips of citizens of China increased almost fourfold: from 35 million people – in 2005 to 125 million people – in 2015. The total volume of consumption of Chinese tourists abroad in 2015 exceeded 200 billion dollars. For comparison, all the revenue part of Kazakhstan’s budget in 2015 was less than 20 billion dollars.
