Kazakhstan to launch a new TV channel
March will see the launch of a new Yel Arna TV channel to broadcast documentaries, feature films and series of domestic production exceptionally. This was informed by the Minister of Information and Communication Dauren Abayev at the press conference following the Government meeting.
The TV channel will operate under random method similar with such foreign TV channels as TV1000, Dom Kino. At least 50% of broadcasting will be in Kazakh.
As D.Abayev noted, the format will radically differ from the former TV channel with the same name.
It will be a completely new format. The Yel Arna brand is very good, we would like to preserve it, D.Abayev noted.
The Ministry now works on broadcasting the films produced from 1940s.
The eponymous TV channel stopped broadcasting in March 2014, being substituted with 24.kz news TV channel.
