Kazakhstan to develop the organic production standards

The Government of Kazakhstan considers at the meeting the draft state program for AIC development in 2017-2021, which provides for development and promotion of Kazakhstans brand of organic products.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Agriculture Askar Myrzakhmetov, with a view of promoting the Kazakhstans brand of organic products there will be developed the standards for organic production, turnover and certification in accordance with international standards, and established the laboratories of organic products.

In addition, work will be done on integrating science, education and industry, in connection with which two agricultural centers are planned to be created on the basis of S.Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University and Kazakh National Agrarian University.

There are also plans to take a number of measures on state regulation of veterinary safety. In particular, to strengthen the livestock owners responsibility for the failure to conduct veterinary practice; to set requirements for veterinary organizations established by local executive bodies, etc.

As related to phytosanitary, it is planned to set responsibilities of agricultural producers for the chemical treatments against particularly dangerous, harmful and quarantine organisms.

Participating in the discussion of state program on AIC development in 2017-2021 were akim of Aktobe region Berdibek Saparbayev, akim of Almaty region Amandyk Batalov, akim of Akmola region Sergey Kulagin, Taiynsha Astyk LLP Director General Anatoly Rafalsky, RZA JSC President Samurat Imandosov, Agrotrading LLP Director Sergey Milenko, Chairman of the Board of Director of AgroMash Holding Din Kim.

According to the instructions of the Head of State, the priority for the nearest future is the accelerated agricultural development, in connection with which the Government has elaborated the state program on AIC development in 2017-2021. In the next five years, the production and processing of agricultural products should be the main source of diversification and a driver of economic growth.
