Kazakhstan, Thailand to introduce a mutual visa-free regime for citizens

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand Virasakdi Futrakul. He arrived in Astana to hold the third meeting of the Joint Commission between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Thailand on bilateral cooperation.

The meeting discussed the state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Thai relations in political, economic, scientific, technical and cultural fields.

The Kazakh side proposed to establish a visa-free regime for all citizens of Kazakhstan and Thailand. Deputy Foreign Ministers agreed on the need to speed up the process of considering the relevant draft agreement between the governments.

The main outcome of the meeting was the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand on mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service/official passports.
