KAZAKHSTAN SAW NET SALES OF US DOLLARS EXCEED OVER 2 TRILLION TENGE IN 2019
Net sales of US dollars at exchange points amounted to 214.3 billion tenge in December of 2019, 0.9% less than in November, but 66.5% more compared to December of 2018, Strategy2050.kz with reference to Ranking.kz reports.
On average, the official dollar exchange rate for December last year was equal to 383.9 tenge per 1 US dollar, which less by 1% than in November, but by 3.2% more compared December of 2018. This January, the official dollar exchange rate averaged 378.7 tenge, 1.3% less than last month.
Last year, the amount of net sales of US dollars at exchange points exceeded more than 2 trillion tenge, a striking 45.3% increase than in January December of 2018.
Slightly more than half of the total net sales for January December 2019 fell on two megacities Almaty (731.3 billion tenge) and Shymkent (305.3 billion tenge). They were followed by Nur Sultan with 155.6 billion tenge.
Almaty (22.4 billion tenge), Turkestan (24.8 billion tenge) and North Kazakhstan (29.1 billion tenge) regions saw the smallest volume of net sales of US dollars.
