Today, the Nazarbayev Center hosted the fourth annual meeting of the Astana Club , which is an authoritative international discussion platform in the format of an expert political forum that brings together leading representatives of think tanks, politicians and diplomats from around the world.

Ariel Cohen, senior expert of the Atlantic Council (USA), noted that his family has 80 years of close ties with Kazakhstan during the on-site press conference of the CCS.

Many experts say that the global system is undergoing an imbalance process, the risks are growing. Instability is growing even in such a stable region as Central Asia. Of course, the product that presents risk ratings today is high-quality. I travel around the world and have seen many different reports. The fact that such a wonderful product was created at a high level in Kazakhstan with added value is a great achievement of our organizers. Of course, one of the most important factors, unfortunately, is the growing tension between the United States and China. Many speak about tariff wars, about trade wars. Unfortunately, this is seen not only in this aspect, but also in the perspective of the growth of the PRC and economic growth and military growth competition between China and the United States. I flew here from Moscow, in Moscow everything has my own opinion. As for the competition between Russia and the USA, this competition ended in my opinion in 1991. Since then, we see that the gross national product of the Russian Federation, depending on the price of oil, is 1.5 trillion dollars, the gross national product of the United States is 18 if not 19 trillion dollars. Yes, there are powerful military forces, but the main competitor for the United States today is China and the challenges for us are how to find a common language. I think you can not lose hope. A common language must be sought and found. Including in Central Asia, in Kazakhstan. I think that the dialogue between the United States and China can and should include not only trade units, not only we should prevent the confrontation of the South China region, not only a joint approach to medium-range missiles, the agreement of which the United States withdrew, and Russia has long threatened to withdraw from it. Because this treaty does not apply to China, Pakistan does not apply to Iran and other countries that build medium-range missiles. As for our report, I invite you all to see it. This report is about infrastructure investments in the Central Asian region. According to reports, it turns out that Kazakhstan is a leader in investments and there are good prospects for investments in Kazakhstan. Not only natural resources and raw materials, but also in such promising industries as IT, information technologies, infrastructure for networks, alternative sources of energy, airports, and infrastructures that go above the development of the raw materials economy, said Ariel Cohen.
