Kazakhstan implements 326 projects under PPP

Leaders in public-private partnership among the regions of Kazakhstan are East Kazakhstan, Almaty, Aktobe, North Kazakhstan and Akmola regions. This was stated by Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev during the Government meeting.

“East Kazakhstan region has concluded PPP contracts for 11 kindergartens total value of which is 6.7 billion tenge. Among them, there are 5 kindergartens in Semei and Ust-Kamenogorsk cities. Also Governor’s Office plans to continue working in this direction and will announce tenders for the construction of health facilities. Almaty region is also among the leaders. The contracts for 7 projects of service-procuring centers in the amount of 1.5 billion tenge have been concluded, also the tenders for 3 kindergartens have been announced”, the Minister of National Economy has told.

Aktobe region has signed 6 agreements, among which there is the construction of the Ice Palace, an ambulance station, ophthalmic and dental clinics and sports facilities. North Kazakhstan region has concluded 1 contract for a kindergarten, and two more contracts are under the consideration. Akmola region has also concluded agreements for the construction of kindergartens and conducted further development of documentation for 50 projects, including: construction and reconstruction of kindergartens, clinics, hospitals and housing facilities. Their implementation is planned in 2017.

According to K. Bishimbayev, total at different stages of readiness there are 326 projects, 303 of them are in the regions.

“At the national level 23 projects are worked out, 6 projects – by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, 5 projects are worked out by the Ministry for Investment and Development”, the Minister has said.

The Ministry of Energy has projects to develop the information systems for meteorology, including oil, environmental monitoring and natural resources. There are projects in other Ministries.
