Kazakhstan holds fourth position on popularity in outbound tourism segment among Russians
Deputy Minister of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Timur Toktabayev reported on an annual increase of the flow of Russian tourists to Kazakhstan.
“In 2015 Kazakhstan held the fourth position on popularity in outbound tourism segment among Russians. 3 million Russian citizens visited Kazakhstan. The most popular destinations among our neighbors are Schuchinsk-Burabay resort area, Bayanaul National Park in Pavlodar region, Lake Balkhash and Alakol, ski resort “Shymbulak”, he said during a panel session on the topic “New opportunities for tourism development between Kazakhstan and Russia” held at the 13th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan “Atameken” Yuliya Yakupbayeva noted a high potential of tourism cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia.
“Our target group of problems – roads and transport accessibility, quality of services in hotels, especially in the regions, information support of attractions. I think that these problems are acute for both countries. On the other hand, the potential of tourism cooperation is very powerful. We are ready to do cross-border routes, improve transport accessibility by launching charter and expanding geography of regular flights and trains,” Yuliya Yakupbaeva said.
However, she added, that today it is necessary to consolidate joint efforts of travel agencies, hotels, food items, airlines, shipping companies, to improve the quality of tourism products.
