Kazakhstan, Finland intend to expand inter-parliamentary relations

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informed, the sides stressed the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening the comprehensive cooperation between Kazakhstan and Finland.

The Ambassador informed the M. Pekkarinen on the achievements of Kazakhstan over 25 years of independence. The diplomat believes that it opens new prospects for cooperation in the light of the implementation of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiatives aimed at modernization of Kazakhstan’s economy and society, reform of the state apparatus.

Given the advanced experience of Finland, M. Nurtleuov expressed hope for further expansion of the participation of the Finnish business in the implementation of the National Plan, the new infrastructure policy “Nurly Zhol” and the state program of industrial development.

Earlier, the negotiations took place during the official visit of Majilis Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin in Finland in October 2016, confirmed the presence of mutual interest and unrealized potential in the coop between two countries.

In turn, M. Pekkarinen congratulated Kazakhstanis on the upcoming anniversary date in the modern history of Kazakhstan and pledged commitment to convergence of the countries through active participation not only in major international events, but also practical issues.

“Interest of Helsinki to Kazakhstan, is a leader in Central Asia and a bridge between Asia and Europe, it is increasing every year. Evidence is the high dynamics of political contacts and the progressive increase in the number of joint projects in the field of production and processing industry, health and agriculture”, – stressed the Finnish parliamentarian.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to continue work on the intensification of relations between Kazakhstan and Finland in view of the reached agreements.
