Kazakhstan, EU to work out joint social projects

During the meeting N. Yermekbayev emphasized on expanded Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Kazakhstan and the EU signed on 21 December, 2015 in Astana, which is intended to promote further comprehensive development of relations between our countries, the pm.kz reports.

The Minister presented the main directions of department activity said that the ministry will ensure that the development of partnership relations and mutual understanding between the state and religious organizations, civil society.

N. Yermekbayev noted that there is a unique situation in the religious sphere of Kazakhstan due to historical conditions, therefore, specific approaches taking into account the specific of the country are required between the different religions for the harmonious development of relations between state and religion.

He informed about the taken measures by non-governmental organizations to support the state, to create other favorable conditions for their development, as well as the proposed to study the issue of the implementation of joint social projects in Kazakhstan, to consult and to take on the maintenance of global and regional security.

Head of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan reported on the ongoing work within the framework of regional cooperation, shared plans and expressed interest in developing cooperation with the Ministry.

As a result, Cooperation Agreement in the development of civil society and ensuring the rights of citizens to freedom of religion was achieved.
