Kazakhstan documentary will take part in the London Film Festival
The documentary film Ancestral Heritage will take part in the competition program of the London International Film Festival, which will be held from February 16 to 23, 2019.
The film is nominated in the categories Best Short Documentary and Best Editing in Short Documentary Cinema.
The picture of the director Berik Zhakhanov is included in the cycle Turkic peoples of Kazakhstan, shot at the Kazakhfilm studio named after Sh. Aimanov by order of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This documentary cycle is devoted to Turkic ethnic groups living in multinational Kazakhstan and, in addition to Ancestral Heritage, also includes the following films: Taste of Color by director Kamila Abdeldinova, Thread by Nadira Saduova, and Chuvashi. Kazakhstan is my second homeland “Dinara Manabaeva. The authors of each film cycle tried to talk about the traditions, life and culture of a particular ethnic group through the main characters.
Heritage of ancestors is dedicated to representatives of the Uzbek diaspora and tells about the life of 47-year-old Abdimannop Zuparov, who lives in South Kazakhstan and, continuing the work of his grandfathers, is engaged in making the cradle of besik. I am very pleased that our film participates in such a good festival. I expect that everything will be held at a high level and our picture will be marked with a prize, because, in my opinion, it turned out. There is life in it, the film director Berik Zhakhanov shared his impressions.
Every year, the London International Film Festival gathers on the same creative platform the most diverse representatives of the film industry – beginner and professional directors, distributors and many others. The festival is always open to all known genres and forms of cinema, it pays special attention to the young generation of cinematographers, modern trends and trends in the development of cinema.
