Minister of Religious Affairs and Civil Society Nurlan Yermekbayev met with Executive Director of the “Hedayah” International Center to counter violent extremism Maqsoud Kruse (UAE).

The meeting discussed issues of countering religious extremism and terrorism, including measures taken to strengthen preventive work.

At the same time, the meeting participants discussed the opening of a Hedayah regional office in Kazakhstan. Opening this regional office will increase the effectiveness of the fight against extremism and terrorism by establishing links between experts in this field. One of the important activities of the regional office will be the exchange of information and the establishment of links with the global anti-terrorist coalition.

Executive Director of the “Hedayah” International Center to counter violent extremism Maqsoud Kruse noted the importance of coordinating efforts in the fight against extremism and terrorism.

The International Center “Hedayah” (“Middle Way”) was established in December 2012 on the initiative of the United Arab Emirates. The main mission of the organization is to assist in countering violent extremism by conducting and disseminating the best expert research in this field.
