Kazakhstan considers introducing special requirements to appearance
Kazakhstanis should wear clothes that fit our traditions and time. This was reported by Minister of Religious Affairs and Civil Society Nurlan Yermekbayev at the press conference following the Government meeting.
The Head of State, during a meeting with the leaders of the SAMK, said that the appearance of young people with long beards and cut pants, as well as girls in black robes, do not correspond to our traditions.
Of course, we retain the right of every citizen to dress as they please. At the same time, it is necessary to carry out explanatory work with those citizens who follow movements that are alien to our people, N. Yermekbayev noted.
The Minister cited the Middle Eastern countries, where strict requirements for clothing are established, both for its citizens and for foreign tourists. At the same time, even people of a different faith, when visiting these countries, follow the established rules regarding appearance.
This is a very important, sensitive issue. We will examine it from all sides together with experts and specialists. The Government and the public will come to a correct, balanced decision, N. Yermekbayev concluded.
