Kazakhstan built trustful cooperation with US – N.Nazarbayev

During the bilateral meeting, the Head of State greeted the US Deputy Secretary of Energy and thanked him for his participation in the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017.

The President of Kazakhstan noted the confidential nature of the cooperation between two countries, which has been established over 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties.

“This year we celebrate the 25th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. During these years, Kazakhstan has built trustful cooperation with the US, which was not overshadowed by any events. During this time, agreements were concluded in the energy sector, in the field of democratic partnership. We jointly resolved questions of the struggle against nuclear weapons. In all issues on the international agenda, Kazakhstan had a similar opinion with your country”, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The Head of State stressed the results of economic relations between Kazakhstan and the United States and expressed readiness for their further development.

“There are more than 500 companies with participation of the American capital in Kazakhstan. Including the largest oil companies, which invested 40 billion dollars in Kazakhstan’s economy. We are ready to further develop our cooperation”, the President of Kazakhstan said.

In turn, D. Brouillette, on behalf of US President D. Trump, congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev and all Kazakhstani people on the international exhibition EXPO-2017.

“We are ready to continue our bilateral relations not only in the energy sector but also in other areas. Today I have had a whole series of meetings with the heads of Kazakhstani state bodies, including the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan. I also want to convey to you the words of Washington’s support for Kazakhstan’s membership in the WTO and OECD”, the US Deputy Secretary of Energy.

In addition, D. Brouillette thanked the Head of State for the conditions created in Kazakhstan for foreign businessmen, including the changes introduced in the visa regime for investors.
