Kazakhstan assists Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the EAEU
The first tranche of 41 million USD is aimed at modernizing the customs, veterinary, phytosanitary, and quarantine services in Kyrgyzstan.
The detailed technical assistance action list was signed by Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Bayedilov and Deputy Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Sazbakov in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin and Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Pankratov in Cholpon-Ata on August 22, at the Economic Forum Issyk-Kul 2017 and the meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Within the framework of the Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on developing economic cooperation in the context of Eurasian economic integration signed in December 2016, Kazakhstan is to allocate 100 million USD.
The first tranche, according to the Detailed Action List, amounts to 41 million USD.
This amount is aimed to be used in implementing the Roadmap for the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the EAEU Agreement: modernizing and developing customs border infrastructure, improving veterinary, phytosanitary and quarantine systems in accordance with international standards, training of Kyrgyz specialists.
Just for equipping and modernizing Kyrgyzstan’s veterinary and quarantine services, Kazakhstan is providing technical assistance in the amount of 22 million USD.
This allows the Kyrgyz Republic to faster adapt its economy to EAEU requirements.
