Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to take specific steps in interaction in the sphere of tourism

A plan of joint actions in the field of tourism for 2017-2019 was signed during the International Uzbek tourist exhibition World of Rest 2017 between the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The international interdepartmental document was signed by Minister of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly and Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Anvar Sharapov.

By signing the document, the Heads of tourism departments of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan stressed the importance of existing friendly relations between the two fraternal peoples and the importance to further strengthen cooperation between our states in the field of tourism.

Bilateral cooperation will focus on the following priority areas: exchange of experience in the efficient management of tourist destinations, maximum assistance in carrying out tourist activities of the two countries.

Participation of the Kazakh side in the International Uzbek tourist exhibition “World of Rest 2017”, which opened today in Tashkent, demonstrates Kazakhstan’s readiness for effective implementation of the Strategy for Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, adopted for 2017-2019.

The next step in implementing the action plan will be the participation of Uzbek tour operators in the International Kazakhstan tourist exhibition KITF 2017 (Almaty, April 19-21, 2017) and Astana Leisure 2017 (Astana, September 27-29, 2017).

Prior to EXPO-2017, our Governments intend to organize combined tours along the route Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara-Khiva and Shymkent-Turkestan-Astana and in the opposite direction for participants and guests of the international specialized exhibition that will be held this summer in Astana.

Also, to increase the tourist flow, our countries intend to create a joint tourism project “The Great Silk Road”.

In order to develop and strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan agreed to promote the exchange of educational technologies and research in the field of tourism, as well as experience in organizing and managing tourism business.

Recall, the spring International Uzbek tourist exhibition “World of Rest 2017” is held in Tashkent on April 13-14.
