Kazakhstan and Northern Macedonia agreed on cooperation in the fight against crime

On August 22 this year, within the framework of the working visit of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gizat Nurdauletov to Northern Macedonia, a meeting was held with the Minister of Justice of the country Renata Deskoska

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation in the fight against crime, as well as issues of international security.

The meeting resulted in the signing of a number of agreements – on extradition of persons, on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, as well as on the transfer of convicts.

It is noted that these international agreements are designed to strengthen mutual cooperation of law enforcement agencies of the two States and make an important contribution in the field of combating crime, protection of constitutional rights and legitimate interests of citizens.

According to G. Nurdauletov, the conclusion of such agreements is evidence of confidence on the part of the European community in the legal system of Kazakhstan, the presence in our country of legal mechanisms that meet generally recognized international standards for guaranteeing the protection of human rights and freedoms.

During the visit, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan also met with the Prosecutor General of Northern Macedonia Lubomir Joveski.

The heads of oversight departments emphasized the importance of coordinated actions to prevent and combat transnational organized crime, and outlined further steps for cooperation.
