Kazakhstan actively increases the transit potential due to development of new transport corridors
“In general, over the past five years, the reconstruction covered 5000 km of roads, operational length of railways increased by 1703 km; 4 airports out of 8 will be completely reconstructed, the capacity of the Aktau sea port to 20 million tons will be increased,” Minister said.
He noted that Kazakhstan should implement a transit capacity through the construction of new international corridors.
“For this purpose, second railway crossing with China � Altynkol station was built, line Zhezkazgan – Beineu was put into operation, thereby reduced transportation distances of more than 1 thousand km, provided a direct rail” output ” from west of Kazakhstan to the Persian Gulf through railway line Uzen-Bolashak,” Minister said.
According to him, plans to develop transport and logistics infrastructure are carried out through Nurly Zhol state program.
“Overall, the program provides for 16 projects, the bulk of which covers the construction and reconstruction of roads of national importance,” Almaty – Taldykorgan, Astana – Petropavlovsk – border of the Russian Federation and others,” Minister has said.
