KAZAKH TRADE AND INTEGRATION MINISTRY DISCUSSED COOP WITH CHINA’S INSPUR GROUP

The Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration hosted a meeting of Kazakh Trade and Integration Minister Bakhyt Sultanov and the Senior Vice President, President of the Foreign Business Unit of the Chinese Corporation Inspur Group Yang Jun, Strategy2050.kz informs referring to the Ministry.

The Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration is working to establish systems for monitoring and analyzing the pricing process. We are looking for the tools for long term forecasting of pricing, both nationwide and in regions. These processes require the processing of big data, and this is impossible unless modern technologies and a digital infrastructure in place, Bakhyt Sultanov said.

On his part, Mr. Yang Jun spoke about his company’s experience in processing large databases.

Our company has extensive experience in creating data centres, Senior Vice President of Inspur Group said.

He also touched upon the projects the company implemented both in China and in other countries of the world.

He also noted that Inspur Group is ready to take part in the development of digital infrastructure and the creation of conditions to realise the Ministry’s plans.

Both sides had deliberations on the global trends in digital commerce.

The Minister informed the guests about the e commerce development program in Kazakhstan.

As he said, electronic commerce is about to exceed 4% of the total retail trade in years to come as the development of electronic commerce is one of the key areas of the digital agenda of the EAEU.

For us, as for the Ministry of Trade and Integration, in terms of electronic commerce, priority is placed on cross border, the minister said, adding that according to experts Kazakhstan could become a center of logistics and electronic commerce for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

At the end of the meeting, the Ministry of Trade and Integration’s single operator QazTrade Centre for Trade Policy Development concluded a cooperation memorandum with Inspur Group and its strategic partner OBOR Fresh Food, agreeing to cooperate in the development of digital technologies, as well as to consider the possibility of creating a training center for cross border electronic commerce.

Mr. Yang Jun invited Bakhyt Sultanov to visit the head office and showroom of Inspur Group in Jinan.
