Kazakh Prime Minister, Director General of UNIDO discuss cooperation on the Third Modernization of Kazakhstan’s economy

Ukimet Uyi hosted the meeting of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Li Yong.

The meeting discussed cooperation in implementing five institutional reforms of the Head of State N. Nazarbayev, accelerated technological modernization of Kazakhstan’s economy, the Industrial and Innovative Development State Program within the framework of the special agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and UNIDO.

Along with that, they considered Kazakhstan’s continued participation in UNIDO regional projects in such areas as industrial statistics, industrial integration and mitigation of the negative impact of industry on the environment.

Particular attention was paid to the exhibition EXPO-2017, in particular, the parties discussed preparations for joint work on establishing the International Center for Green Technologies and the “Energy of the Future” investment projects on the basis of EXPO.
