The centre sees more than 50 operations being conducted on a daily basis, over 8 thousand a year. There are 14 clinical departments capable of receiving 385 patients at once. The departments include three republican centres joint replacement, arthroscopy and sports injury, and spinal pathology.

The Head of State has announced a decision to build an additional medical building in an area of 23.2 thousand square meters as the Research Institute’s obsolete building does not meet the requirements of the time.

A new building will be built in 2021 as the funds are about to be allocated. 26 billion tenge is required. The sum is considerable, however, despite it I will give an appropriate instruction to the Government, Kassym Jomart Tokayev said.

It is planned that the new building will be equipped with 6 operating rooms, rehabilitation centers with 300 beds, educational units, as well as a mini factory for output of medical devices.

It is expected that the building will increase the volume of high tech medical services by 45%.

The Institute staff expressed gratitude to the President for the support provided by the State, while the Head of State welcomed the work being done by the physicians, wishing them success.
