KAZAKH CITIZEN AWARDED ORDER ON BEHALF OF JAPANESE EMPEROR
The Government of Japan has published a list of foreign citizens who will be awarded orders on behalf of the Emperor in the fall of 2019. A citizen of Kazakhstan, Taimagambetov Zhaken Kozhakhmetovich, Former Dean, Professor of the History Department at Al-Farabi Kazakh State University, Former Deputy Director of the National Museum of Kazakhstan is among the holders of the order, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of Japan’s Embassy in Kazakhstan.
Zhaken Taimagambetov was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Golden Rays with a Neckband for contribution to deepening scientific relations and promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Kazakhstan.
The orders on behalf of the Emperor of Japan are awarded to foreign citizens for outstanding achievements in the development of friendship with Japan and in other areas.
There are Kazakhstanis who have been awarded the orders until this time:
Mr. Absattar Derbissali was awarded in May 2019 for his contribution to the development of the Japanese language in Kazakhstan and promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Kazakhstan;
Mr. Tolebay Rakhypbekov was awarded in November 2018 for his contribution to deepening scientific relations between Japan and Kazakhstan through medical care and examination of people exposed to radiation;
Mr. Nurlan Dulatbekov was awarded in April 2018 for understanding the problems of Japanese internees;
Mr. Olzhas Suleimenov was awarded in November 2017 for his contribution to strengthening relations of Japan and Kazakhstan in the field of nuclear non-proliferation weapons;
First President Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded in June 2008 during his official working visit to Japan;
Mr. Askanbek Aldanazarov was awarded in November 2006 for his contribution to understanding problems of Japanese prisoners of war and the collection of remains.
