Kazakh Ambassador met with President of Switzerland


During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Kazakh-Swiss relations, as well as the forthcoming visit of the Federal President to Kazakhstan this year.

Within the framework of the visit, bilateral meetings with the leadership of the country, Swiss business circles working in Kazakhstan, and participation in the national day of Switzerland at EXPO-2017 are planned.

The parties stressed that 2017 is one of the most active and fruitful in the history of Kazakh-Swiss relations. Visits of three federal ministers, other high-ranking officials, representatives of Swiss universities and business circles to Kazakhstan are expected. The issues of interregional interaction, cooperation in the energy and scientific spheres, including between the universities of two countries, were also discussed.

At the same time, Zh. Aytzhanova spoke about Kazakhstan’s international initiatives, economic modernization in the country and plans to create a center for the development of “green technologies” and investment projects based on EXPO-2017.

At the end of the conversation, President D. Leuthard expressed her confidence that the forthcoming visit to Astana would undoubtedly give impetus to the further development of bilateral relations both in political, economic, and scientific and technical spheres.
