Jeenbekov meets with Kazakh Prime Minister Mamin


President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, who has arrived in Kyrgyzstan for an official visit.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that this is the first Mamin’s official visit to Kyrgyzstan since he became the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.

Kazakhstan is one of our main partners. I am sure that within the framework of your visit good prerequisites for a broad discussion of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh bilateral relations and preparation of important decisions have been created, Jeenbekov stressed.

He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the efforts of First President Nursultan Nazarbayev to develop cooperation between the brotherly countries. Warm and trusting relations have been established with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Together, we will continue to develop our alliance and strategic partnership. I think you had a good opportunity at today’s meeting of the Intergovernmental Council to discuss and make decisions on all issues, the President said.

The prime minister of Kazakhstan expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed the words of best wishes from First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

He noted that many issues on the economic agenda were discussed and mutually beneficial agreements were signed at today’s meeting of the Intergovernmental Council.

Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan increased by 15 percent. This year, we have set a goal of bringing the volume of trade turnover up to $1 billion, Askar Mamin said.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Askar Mamin discussed all the topical issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation.
