Issues of preventing extremism discussed in Aktau
Minister of Religious Affairs and Civil Society Nurlan Yermekbayev met in Aktau with imams and theologians of Mangistau region. Participating in the event was Deputy Akim of Mangistau region Anuar Chuzhegulov, staff of the regional department for religious affairs, the Center for Religious Studies and Asar Information and Analytical Center.
N.Yermekbayev informed at the meeting on the main activities of the Ministry created and on the states position towards destructive religious movements. The Minister additionally provided a series of recommendations to the regional akimat, imams of the mosques of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan and theologians on preventing religious extremism and terrorism among the population.
The Minister particularly focused on issues of ensuring and strengthening the principles of secularism in the formation of the state, undertaking effective outreach to disclose the negative nature of destructive religious movements.
Theologians and imams supported Ministers proposals and informed about the commitment to intensify the work on shielding the population from the ideas of destructive religious movements, ensuring stability in the religious sphere.
