Issues of child rights protection discussed in Mazhilis
The meeting was attended by the deputy chairmen of the dialogue platforms of the ongoing international conference “Kazakhstan, friendly to the child!” and representatives of NGOs, who won the second contest for awarding state grants.
The press service of the Mazhilis informed that at present the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives concludes contracts with grantees, including details of the budget and project implementation schedules.
The purpose of the meeting in the Mazhilis is to coordinate further joint activities of the working group with the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child with grantees. The emphasis was laid on the implementation of the recommendations of the international conference “Kazakhstan, friendly to the child” within the framework of NGO projects and the 70th session of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child following the 4th national report on the implementation of the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by Kazakhstan.
The heads of dialogue platforms and non-governmental organizations exchanged views on the forthcoming work on the implementation of grants, briefly told about their plans.
Head of the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives Nurlan Uteshev informed that during the implementation of the projects, public monitoring and control will be carried out.
At the suggestion of Z. Baliyeva, such meetings will be held on a regular basis and participants will report on the progress of projects, submit proposals to the legislative acts on the rights of children and youth.
