‘Islam and Orthodoxy Religions of Peace’ Int’l Conference
President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov took part in the Islam and Orthodoxy Religions of Peace International Conference.
In his speech, the President noted Islam and Orthodoxy are our spiritual heritage and the best example of peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect.
He said the preservation and strengthening of interfaith peace and harmony in society will create conditions for effective confrontation with various extremist and radical trends.
On behalf of President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Ambassador of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Nikolay Udovichenko read out a message of greetings to the participants of the International Conference.
Also, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek Pierre von Arx, First Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of the Russian Federation Damir Hazrat Mukhetdinov, Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, head of the metropolitan area in Central Asia, Head of Kyrgyzstan’s Spiritual Board of Muslims Maksat azhy Toktomushev, Bishop Daniel of Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan and others delivered welcoming speeches.
Representatives of authorized state bodies, religious organizations, academic and expert communities on religion, prevention of radicalism and extremism from Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Central Asian countries took part in the Conference.
The “Islam and Orthodoxy Religions of Peace” Conference is a continuation of the cycle of I and II Islam in a Modern Secular State” International scientific practical conference.
