International passenger forum to be held within EXPO-2017
The Forum, which will take place during the international exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana, invited the railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Ukraine, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy reported.
Chairman of the Directorate of the Council for Rail Transport of the Commonwealth member states Petr Kucherenko thinks that all the most advanced in this sphere will be represented at EXPO 2017 in Astana.
“Kazakhstan is very responsible for preparing for the international exhibition. We will have an opportunity to borrow a lot from transport and other industries from what will be presented here. In addition to getting acquainted with the exhibition, we will discuss issues related to railway passenger transportation”, P. Kucherenko said.
At the same time, Anatoly Krasnoshchek, the first vice-president of Russian Railways, called EXPO a significant event not only for Kazakhstan but for all countries of the Commonwealth.
“We attach great importance to this event. The theme of the exhibition is extremely relevant – “green” technologies are being introduced everywhere. Improving environmental safety on the railways is very important”, A. Krasnoshchek said.
Vice President of the Iranian Railways Hussein Ashouri is confident that holding major international exhibitions has a positive impact on relations between countries and companies.
We remind that at the meeting of the Council for Rail Transport of the Commonwealth member states in November 2015 in Tashkent, an agreement on the development of cooperation in the field of environmental protection was signed. An international center for environmental safety in the field of railway transport has been established.
