Intellectual property expertise and registration to be held in “one window”
The draft law on amendments to intellectual property legislation provides the one window principle when examining and registering the intellectual property objects, Minister of Justice Marat Beketayev informed presenting the bill.
As it turns out, in Kazakhstan now the expert organization receives applications and conducts examination, while the Ministry of Justice registers the right to the intellectual property objects. Meanwhile, the same procedures in most OECD countries, such as the USA, Portugal, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, China, Korea, are carried out in the same department on one window principle.
The bill aims to reduce the administrative barriers in the intellectual property sphere.
