Inflation in Kazakhstan amounted to 0.8% in January

Food prices in the past month increased by 1.2%, nonfood goods – by 0.7%, paid services – by 0.4%.

In addition, last month the price increased for potatoes by 6.9%, fresh vegetables – by 6.7%, fresh fruits – by 1.7%, beef – by 1.5%, canned milk – by 1.3 %, rennet cheese – by 1.2%, black tea – 1.1%, butter – by 1%, confectionery products – by 0.9%, poultry – by 0.8%.

At the same time, prices reductions were recorded for sugar, buckwheat by 0.8%, eggs – by 0.2%.

A slight increase in prices was recorded for newspapers, books and stationery goods – by 0.9%, glass and ceramic products, pharmaceutical products, home appliances – by 0.8%, detergents – by 0.7%, furniture and household items, textiles – by 0.6%, personal goods – 0.5%.

In addition, the payment for legal services increased by 7%, insurance of personal vehicles – by 6.8%, services in the field of recreation, entertainment and culture – by 1.2%, health care – by 1%. Travel by intercity buses rose by 1.8%, and air transport fell by 8.6%, passenger railway transport over long distances – by 1.9%.

In the sphere of housing and communal services the tariffs for sewers increased by 5.6%, electricity – by 1.3%, cold water – by 0.5%.
