In the Year of Youth – Kazakhstan startups connect artificial intelligence
Atyrau’s boyfriend Yerzhan Ryskaliyev attracted 340 thousand dollars to his startup Clockster and in 5 years is ready to go to the rescue of about 10 million dollars a year, selling a device for accounting of working time on biometric data and face recognition in the countries of Southeast Asia, where today The first 4 devices are sent.
This is a cloud based system for fingerprint and face recognition. The system consists in the fact that it provides an opportunity to keep records and tabulation of employees using biometrics. There is a mobile application with the help of which they can watch who is at work now, who is late, who is not late, display a kind of analytics. Another important thing is the cost. The cost is only 17,000 tenge per month, which includes a special biometric tablet and software, as well as technical support, said Yerzhan Ryskaliyev.
He shared that last year he attracted 100 thousand dollars of British investments, this year – 240 thousand dollars. The first investments attracted themselves – from a private businessman. The second came through AstanaHab. Half were from Singapore.
Our clients are now CFS, HARIDIS, COSTA, all points in Kazakhstan, 84 of them, and various restaurants. In general, we now have 184 locations. In principle, the development is on. The product, quite demanded. Now we are making the first sales in the Philippines, where the 4 device will go. And gradually we want to go exactly to the market of Southeast Asia. Commercialization is underway. We intend to go to the rescue of approximately 10 million dollars a year within 5 years. With that, the team will consist of no more than 60 people. In fact, there are not many people there who need to manage such a system. This is a software solution. Now we have 12 people in our team, added Yerzhan Ryskaliyev.
He noted that the world has a dozen different analogs to what he created with his team. The strongest of them, he said, is the American TISHIDS, they recently sold at a cost of $ 350 million. Their main market is the USA, they don’t sell anywhere else.
Their whole problem, in fact, is the price. They are very expensive for our market. We have a different business model. We do it much cheaper, concluded Yerzhan Ryskaliyev.
He added to himself that he was from Atyrau, since 2009 he has been working in the field of IT. He studied in Italy, in Milan. By education – industrial designer. Upon his return, he worked in the field of IT, in the oil company Agip. Now engaged in software development. Works with quasi-structures on the development of certain modules. The first office was opened in India, we worked there for half a year – we had 11 employees. After the devaluations, thanks to our economy, we had to close and returned to Astana. Currently he has several IT projects at the same time, one of which is the Clockster.
