In Almaty, buses have been renewed on two more routes


In Almaty, according to the transport reform, the renewal of buses and the route network increase of the city continue. During the working visit, the governor of the city, Bauyrzhan Baybek, checked the new buses bought by a private carrier to update the routes No. 31 and No. 81.

The bus park number 2 acquired lowfloor buses brand “Yutong”, equipped with the cameras and the ramps.

On route number 31 between md. Kazakhfilm and Barlyk market, 17 buses start its services. For route No. 81 from ul. Kozhabekova to 71 siddles 14 buses are provided. In connection with ensuring 100% regularity of traffic on routes, it is expected to double the passenger traffic.

Almaty’s governor Bauyrzhan Baybek mentioned that, thanks to the usage of the cashless payment system and subsidies, market mechanisms had been created that allow carriers to update rolling stock. Since the beginning of the year, 125 new buses have been launched on the roads of the city. This year it is planned to buy more than 430 new units of public transport, including 200 new lowfloor buses on gas.

Over the past two years, the city’s bus park has been upgraded by more than 80%, the country’s first BRT line has been opened, carsharing services have been introduced, the construction of two new metro stations and the realization of the LRT project continues.
