High level of safety to be ensured at XXVIII World Winter Universiade
More than 7,500 law enforcement officers and military will ensure the safety of 2017 Universiade participants and visitors, Minister of Internal Affairs K. Kassymov informed at the regular Government meeting.
According to the Minister, the police station with a staff of 50 employees will be opened in the athletic village on January 20. The safety of World Universiades participants and guests will be controlled by 7,500 law enforcement officers and the military, including 150 dog handlers and bomb technicians. Day-and-night watch will be carried by 600 fire safety servicemen to prevent emergencies, with 63 pieces of equipment and 4 helicopters.
All the games facilities are provided with screening equipment. 96 arch and 27 X-ray-TV systems, 2,000 camcorders, including 182 with an access to the operational management center, are prepared for the work.
The proper rule of law will be provided during the Universiade, the Minister noted.
Todays Government meeting focuses on the progress in preparations for XXVIII World Winter Universiade which starts on January 29 in Almaty.
