Health ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Turkey discuss cooperation issues


Meeting of Health Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Kosmosbek Cholponbayev and Turkey Fahrettin Koja took place in Istanbul on Oct.30.

The meeting was held within the framework of the 6th World Turkic Medical Congress, which is held these days in Turkey, the press service of the Kyrgyz Health Ministry reported.

During the meeting the health ministers of the two countries discussed the cooperation issues in the field of health care, pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

One of the important issues of discussion was the acceleration of ratification by the Turkish Parliament of the Agreement On the opening and joint operation of the Bishkek Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital and training of Kyrgyz specialists in the medical faculties of Turkey in various areas.

Also, the parties discussed the issues of using the annual quota for receiving treatment by the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkish state clinics, cooperation in creation and implementation of the National Database of Medicines and Medical Devices.

Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koja announced his intention to organize the work of a modern diagnostic center in Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, counterparts discussed the issue of access to medical services for Kyrgyz citizens working in Turkey, and agreed to create a permanent working committee to coordinate the planned work in all areas of health care in the two countries.
