Heads of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan mull regional issues


President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov exchanged views on pressing issues of international and regional politics over the telephone on Oct. 30, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Uzbek president.

The sides also discussed the prospects for the development of multifaceted bilateral relations.

The presidents emphasized that the strong bonds of friendship and good neighborliness tested by time are a solid foundation for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, primarily in the areas of trade, transport, agriculture, energy and other industries.

The heads of state reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries with a view to sustainable development and prosperity of the entire Central Asian region.
